Thursday: I got to do motion capture for the first time. It was really, really, ridiculously fun. I highly recommend getting 19 reflective plastic balls taped all over your body and jumping around under 8 cameras. It was really cool seeing the biped reflect my real-time movements. It was sort of mesmerizing.
Friday: I went to New York with my family and saw Spamalot with my dad. I saw it a few years ago in DC and this show was just as awesome. My hadn't seen it yet, though, and my sister hadn't seen Avenue Q (which I saw with ~ritabuuk over winter break and my mom and dad have already seen), so my sister went with my mom to see that. Then we ate at one of Bobby Flay's restaurants, which was great for everyone else, but merely okay for me because they don't really cater to vegetarians. The fries were good though.
Saturday: I applied to 3 internships at Pixar. I had started the applications before, but I actually submitted them plus my demo reel and portfolio on Saturday. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but I might get one of the software development internships. I also saw Young Frankenstein, which was good, but I think the movie's better. Then we went to the Met and saw the musical instruments exhibit, which was really cool, as well as the Egyptian temple, Japanese art, and part of a temporary exhibit on Poussin's work. Then we ate at one of Mario Batali's restaurants, Babbo, which was INCREDIBLE. Oh my god. Everything was so good.
Sunday: We went to this exhibit at the Morgan Library about drawings from the Uffizi. There were a few of Michelangelo's drawings, but most of them were his contemporaries. It was a beautiful exhibit though. It got me wanting to draw moar. >:] We took the train home, which was delayed, but not for that long.
Today I sent the hardcopy part of my Pixar application, so hopefully they either don't care or don't get to mine until it gets there. I mean, I probably won't get the Technical Director internship anyway, but I guess it was worth a try. Everybody wish me luck!
Now it is my intention to play video games for several hours. Actually, it's more like my intention to do 3D for several hours, but it's sort of in the same vein, amirite?

That's cool how I am am familiar with the chefs of the restaurants you went to. I'm sad about Bobby Flay, as I am sure his food is really good. It at least looks good on TV. I am glad you got to eat at Mario's, because that always looks delicious on TV too.
3D is awesome, and I can't wait to see the shininess you get Blue Raven to render.
Hehe, I loved it. GOOD LUUUUUCK WITH PIXARRRR!!!
